Art with a Heart, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides engaging, educational and interactive visual arts classes to underserved Baltimore area children, youth and adults in schools, group homes, shelters, community centers, recreation centers, foster care agencies, senior facilities, and hospitals. Founded in 2000, Art with a Heart’s mission is to enhance the lives of people in need through visual art. In an effort to achieve its mission, Art with a Heart works to harness the benefits of arts education to cultivate positive, long-lasting changes in the lives and communities of its students.

Service groups will work on a wide variety of visual art activities. These activities include preparing materials for Art with a Heart’s ongoing classes, working on a public art/community project, and/or helping create and finish art pieces for HeARTwares, the organization’s social enterprise retail store. Activities will vary depending on organizational need and may include: painting, ceramics, coloring, cutting, mosaic work, grouting, and/or helping finish a community/public art project.
No artistic skills are needed. Activities will be fun and accessible to everyone, regardless of prior experience or skills.
Art with a Heart is located at 3000 Falls Road, in Mill No. 1. Look for the mirrored mosaic sign. There is a parking pad in front of the office and additional parking in an adjacent garage. Groups are encouraged to carpool whenever possible. If the parking pad is full you can call the office, 410-366-8886 and someone will open the garage for you.
Yes, Art with a Heart is available to come to your place of business or community space.
No, however we do ask all volunteers to sign in when they arrive to the office.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing. Aprons and gloves are provided for all projects that may be messy.
Although Art with a Heart does not require a fee for service groups, it is recommended that groups consider donating to help support the organization’s ongoing visual art classes and projects. A monetary gift or supply donation is be greatly appreciated. Gift cards from the following businesses: Home Depot, Michael’s Arts and Crafts, Anything in Stained Glass, Amazon, Target and Giant grocery are widely utilized and appreciated by Art with a Heart. The organization also has an Amazon Wish List as well for your consideration.
